Monuments and Statues Project

       High Point monument is located in the northwestern part of New Jersey in Montague, Sussex County in the Skylands Region of New Jersey.  The monument is on the highest point in the state of New Jersey. On the observation deck, 220 feet up, you can see for miles around. On a clear day you can see New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania.
High Point Monument was built to honor war veterans. Construction began in 1928 and completed in 1930.  The monument is similar to the Washington Monument in Washington, DC and the Bunker Hill monument near Boston, Massachusetts.
